Degree of Comparison of Adjectives

The degree of comparison of adjectives shows the level or extent of a quality in a noun. It helps us compare people, animals, places, or things.

विशेषण की तुलना की डिग्री से यह पता चलता है कि किसी वस्तु, व्यक्ति या स्थान में कोई गुण कितना अधिक या कम है। इसके द्वारा हम तुलना करते हैं।

Positive Degree

English:
It shows the quality of a noun without comparing it to anything.
Example:
Ram is tall.

Hindi (हिंदी):
यह किसी संज्ञा के गुण को बिना किसी तुलना के दर्शाता है।
उदाहरण:
राम लंबा है।

Comparative Degree

English:
It is used to compare two nouns.
Example:
Ram is taller than Mohan.

Hindi (हिंदी):
इसका प्रयोग दो संज्ञाओं की तुलना करने के लिए किया जाता है।
उदाहरण:
राम मोहन से अधिक लंबा है।

Superlative Degree

English:
It is used to compare more than two nouns and shows the highest degree of quality.
Example:
Ram is the tallest boy in the class.
