What are “Be Verbs”? Be verbs are special verbs used to:

    

Sentences with is (है):

1. He is happy. — वह खुश है।

2. She is a teacher. — वह एक अध्यापिका है।

3. It is a small cat. — यह एक छोटा बिल्ली का बच्चा है।

4. This is my book. — यह मेरी किताब है।

5. That is your pen. — वह तुम्हारा पेन है।

Sentences with am (हूँ):

1. I am ready. — मैं तैयार हूँ।

2. I am a student. — मैं एक छात्र हूँ।

3. I am at home. — मैं घर पर हूँ।

Sentences with are (हैं):

1. You are strong. — तुम मज़बूत हो।

2. We are friends. — हम दोस्त हैं।

3. They are busy. — वे व्यस्त हैं।

4. You are a teacher. — आप एक शिक्षक हैं।

Sentences with was (था):

1. I was tired. — मैं थका हुआ था।

2. He was here. — वह यहाँ था।

3. She was angry. — वह नाराज़ थी।

4. It was cold. — मौसम ठंडा था।

5. This was my room. — यह मेरा कमरा था।

Sentences with were (थे):

1. You were late. — तुम देर से आए थे।

2. We were together. — हम साथ थे।

3. They were happy. — वे खुश थे।

1. PRESENT TENSE – BE VERBS

A. Affirmative (Positive)

Structure:

Subject + am / is / are + complement

Examples:

1. I am a teacher.

2. He is honest.

3. She is at home.

4. It is cold today.

B. Negative

Structure:

Subject + am / is / are + not + complement

Examples:

C. Interrogative (Question)

Structure:

Structure:
